Memories of Africa

We gotta get gas soon, i'm thinking. I haven't seen any towns for a hundred kilometers. I Slow our speed down to conserve gas, we just hit the red 'E'. My friends and I just got to South Africa we are driving north to the best rock bouldering in the world. Our rental car is so packed full of stuff that Nick and Jenn who are stuffed in the back seat, cannot see out any window or even move for that matter. All of a sudden I see dots of lights, slowly building in the distance on a hill side is a town. but no main street. we pass on. thinking theres no chance of finding gas here, even if there was gas we didn't know if it was safe to go looking for it. I'm beginning to feel kinda sick. we were told not to drive at night and if so you must have a cell phone, which we don't have. After 10 more minutes there is another sea of lights. This time it looks a little more promising, i coast the car off the exit. The small little town is alive with locals. Even though its practicaly midnight you wouldn't guess from the amount of children and people up and about. We pull into the petrol station and ask the man to 'fill it full'. relieved that we aren't stranded on the side of the road we splurge on some ice cream. Plus Jenn and Nick need some time to get the blood back in there legs from sitting on each other under the crash pad in the back seat.
